11 March 2023: The Begusarai district in Bihar was tense following reports that two minor Muslim girls, aged 6 and 7, were allegedly raped by the son of a Hindutva leader while celebrating Holi with others.

The incident occurred while the minors were playing in a school and were approached by the culprit and his friend, both of whom were reportedly drunk.

Villagers said after sexually assaulting the girls, they fled the scene. The incident has caused anger among many Muslims, including the victims’ family members, who demanded that the accused be immediately arrested.

The girls have been admitted to the Hospital for treatment and are said to be in stable condition.
